Default Page Size Help - 06-03-2008, 10:16 PM

I'm sorry if this was answered elsewhere,

Is there a way to set the page size so it fits in different size browser and monitor sizes?

I made my site at home and it looked good, but when I use other computers it is huge and doesn't fit into the screen.

Thanks in advance!@

What size do you have it set at? I usually set width at 900 - 1000 to be on the safe side. Not sure you can do some sort of auto adjust (maybe I am wrong, eh?)

I've actually done a little bit of research on this through various 'help sites' for web designing do's and don'ts. On average they all pretty much said to keep your pages between 800 and 900 for width. The reason being that not everyone is fortunate to have a monitor larger than 15". Also, it is because some people actually have their monitor at a very low resolution setting like 640 X 480. You'd be surprised how many people have their monitors set to that........... I keep mine set to 1280 X 1024 to get as much the maximum viewing I can out of mine. To each their own I guess.

But I would suggest that it might be best to not go anything over 900 in width when you set your page size in WE when you design your sites.

I am actually currently re-desiging a few of the sites I had designed to make them abide by this so that I practice what I preach. LOL

Oh heck yes! I check my work in these bad boys:

IE
Firefox
Opera
Netscape
Safari

And actually I have learned that a lot of people are using Firefox. A lot of browsers are based off the platform from Mozilla Software.
