Default LG8300 sound Codecs in videos not compatible - 12-10-2006, 01:36 AM

I purchased my LG8300 cellphone in Sept, 2006. I setup the Ringtone Studio with the proper cell phone model. I have some videos I took with cellphone camera and I saved them to a Micro SD card and copied them to my computer. I tried to open one of these videos in the Studio and while the video can be played, I receive an error that the sound Codec is not compatible. I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition with all the latest XP updates and Windows Media Player 11. What do I need to do to get these sound Codecs to work in the Studio?

I am also using the latest Mozilla Firefox web browser. Why is it that when I navigate to this web site that a white blank window appears in the middle of the screen? It obscures part of the window and takes 15 sec to disappear. If I click on it, it brings up the Ringtone Studio Home Page website. It reappears every time I change web pages on this site.

Are you able to play the videos files in Windows Media Player 11 ?

For the web page issue , I want to send me a screen shot of that to my email sadhim@bvrpusa.com

I need you to take a screenshot of this and e-mail it to me.

1. With the message/error on the screen, press the PrintScreen or PrtScn button on your keyboard.

2. Click Start, Programs, Accessories, and click Paint to open Paint.

3. Click Edit, Paste in Paint. The picture of the message should appear in the Paint window.

4. Click File, Save As..., where it says Save In at the top, change this to Desktop.

5. In the File name field type in your last name, in the Save as type field set it to JPEG and click the Save button.

6. Reply to this e-mail and attach the file from your Desktop.

Default Ringtone Media Studio-Sound Codec error and website problem - 12-12-2006, 01:43 AM

The sound codec error occurs when I try to open a video file taken with my LG8300, in Ringtone Media Studio, when I click on My Video Files. The video files have the .3g2 file extention.

As for the BVRP web site, the verticle blank window moves as I scroll down the web page and stays in the center. It also disappears after 30 seconds or so, but always reappears as I move to the next web page on your site. I have never seen this before, on any other web site.

I have no problem playing the video in the Quicktime Player, and hearing the recorded sound, as well. Windows Media Player will only play the video but I don't hear any sound.

One of the reasons I bought your product is that it was supposed to be able to allow me to import videos taken with my LG8300 camera phone, which is a cell phone supported by your program.

How do I attach a file to a post on this forum?

I sent you an email, to the address you specified, with the screen captures attached.

Ringtone Media Studio often relies on the codecs present with Windows Media Player, so if you cannot hear the audio in WMP, you will have the same results in RMS. I would suggest searching for a tool that will analyze your 3g2 media file and tell you what codec you need to add to your system for proper functionality of these files.

As for the blank window, it is actually a floating advertisement. It should display a banner image, with an X in the upper right corner to close the window, and should only be displayed once. I'm not sure what is causing the display error. I cannot reproduce the problem in Firefox 2.0. On what version of Firefox are you seeing the error?

Default Blank Window - 12-12-2006, 09:40 PM

I am using Firefox 1.0.7, however, the same problem occurs in IE7, as well. The blank winidow is 2" wide and 4" tall. It moves up and down as I scroll. It goes away after 15-20 seconds.

In my profile, I indicated I wanted to be notified of any Private Messages. I have gotten several emails indicating that I have received Private Messages and I see an indicator in the Forum menu bar indicating that I ahve 4 new messages, but when I click on that, I am informed that the forum does not support Private Messages.

Why does the forum ban words that are commonly used to describe problems associated with using your type of product? It makes it more difficult to explain the problem when I have to use alternative words. These words are not derogatory or vulgar, they are common words used to describe what is or isn't working.
