Default Classic Phone Tools won't answer - 10-11-2006, 10:13 PM

I downloaded Classic Phone tools which immediately updated itself automatically, it's V6.04. I can send faxes successfully. I've set up distinctive ring for faxes. Phonetools will not respond to incoming calls at all. There is no on screen response for voice or fax calls and neither are being answered. I've looked through FAQ's and HELP. I'm stumped! I've been a Classic user on my previous Gateway machine for 5 years. Please advise.

I'm using an internal AC97 datafax softmodem with SmartCp in ym Compaq notebook.

When you recive a fax call you will need to make sure that the software is open on the screen and make sure that you have a phone connection in the 56k modem.

With your model of modem you will only be able to recive faxes, no voice features.
Since the modem is listing as a " datafax softmodem " softmodem, you will want to get updated modem drivers form the PC vender.

once the modem is updated we can try to set it to a different modem driver.
