Classic Phone Tools - installed and running but when it answers a phone call it immediately is loud static when there should be the greeting. Then silence for Record and recording is all static. When caller hangs up - classic doesn't hang up the call and ties up the line for an indefinate period of time. What is the problem? And Hurry - I need to set this up for the weekend...

What is the version of classic phone tools?
What is the modem model in the computer? If the software is not communicateign with the modem, you will get a lot of static on the line and since its not letting go of the phone line. You can reinstall the modem in the pc. In Windows XP/2000: Click Start, Control Panel, Phone and Modem Options, Modems tab. Highlight your modem, click the Remove button and reboot. Upon restart your modem will automatically reinstall itself. In Windows 98/Me: Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Modems. Highlight your modem, click the Remove button and reboot. Upon restart your modem will automatically reinstall itself. |
