Error message while clicking Inbox using classic phonetools6

Hallo,
I have a US-Robotics Modem: Sportster Message Plus Pro V90 PnP
Everytime I want to check my Inbox there is an errormessage:
MCI Error
This order needs an alias-, file-, driver- or devicename.
The inbox shows the voice-mail-files but it is impossible to click them
for hearing.
I had an older version of phonetools before and everything works fine,
only the date of the calls and faxes was wrong.
My system is win XP SP2.

When Trying to play a Voice message and you get an MCI error message, This is due to the Sound recorder with in Windows.

To test this and see if you will need to reinstall your Sound recorder files.
Open Sound recorder, Start> all programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Sound recorder.

When you open Sound recorder try to record a test recording. (about 30sec.) Than if you try to play your recording back, if you dont have any sound or get the MCI error mesage. This means that you will need to get your Sound recorder files reinstalled.
