Default classic phone tools 6 / receive date - 09-03-2006, 09:03 AM

Hi,
I am using CPT 6 in an XP System. My Modem is a
U.S. Robotics V90 56K Pro Msg Ext
I am running Win XP and win XP only recognises "Sportster MessagePlus V90 PnP".

On downloading the messages I am always geting the same "date&time" on the date row. This date is identical with the installation date of CPT.

How to correct this error?

Thanks
Xris

What happens if CPT 6 is running at the time the message comes in (ie no seperate downloading from the modem is reqd)? I assume your computer is set up for the correct time zone and date. Not sure if its the culprit but have you checked USRs website for an inf file to suit your modem? I use a Pace brand independant mode capable modem and the native Windows XP inf for this has bugs which prevent full functioning, its much better going for the manufacturers file where there is one. Have you checked the manual for your modem to see how to set its own internal clock (good independant mode modems have this function so they can time and date stamp received messages)? PS I used the quote function to post this but preview isn't showing correct formatting even though correct code is there. If the final post still isn't correctly formatted, perhaps the BVRP network admin can fix this broken website feature?

Which version of Classic Phonetools do you have exactly?

It might also be an issue with the firmware on the modem itself. You might check with USR to see if they have updated firmware for the modem itself.
