Program quits after a few seconds

Just purchased and downloaded CPT. Installation and registration seemed to go ok. upon clicking the icon the splash displays, then the main window. But it only stays visible for about 5 seconds and then disappears. Checking the Task Manager, the program is not running.

When I set up the program the identification dialog demanded the serial number but not the activation code. Also, there was a button titled "demo." Sales told me there is no demo version for this program. All this makes me wonder whether, in fact, I am installing the right program.
