Send Fax Initialising ... for ever

I bought phonetools a few years ago. I have just bought a new machine and have installed the software again, apparently successfully. The PC has up-to-date XP

I have configured Phonetools for fax only.

If I try and send a fax I get to the end of the wizard and I see that the fax is preparing to send. It says 'Fine Mode. Initialising ....'. It hangs at this point.

If I try and receive a fax Phonetools picks up but then times out.

I have tried re-installing the modem and windows says it is functioning correctly.

What might be wrong ? What can I try ?

What version of Phonetools is this? What did it originally come with?

Hi, I have the same problem with windows XP, the software came with CNet modem, the modem works well for conecction to e-mail and internet but with that program isn`t works...thank you
