Using Vista x64 SP1
U.S. Robotics 5670 PCI faxmodem (vista x64 compatible) Linksys PAP2-T VOIP adapter on dry loop (direct) DSL line. PAP2-T is set up to VOIP provider (Future-Nine) settings for fax on phone port 2 of ATA. People DO sucessfully fax over VOIP - all the time. Gotten one fax out of many tests to different #s to send more than one pg through. Usually get the "hangup after page transmission" message after 1st page. If I let Vista & Phone Tools do their thing automatically, they do not pick the same name (model) for the modem. In fact, if I select the exact name in Phone Tools setup as is in Device Mgr, I get no dial tone. Read posts here about same issue for older versions of Phone Tools & other OSes, but some solutions weren't posted on forum, and some didn't work in Vista w/ this modem and / or software ver. Tried a lot of different combos of modem models. Once (more or less by itself) Phone Tools created a Standard Modem entry in Device Mgr, that had ONLY 2 driver files, along w/ the entry Vista already created (that has 6 driver files). Phone Tools would dial, but still get the "hangup" error. If Phone Tools just won't work in this situation, any suggestions on other brands / models of modems or faxing software? Thanks |
