.alb files open as blank

Hi I have been working on a website which I saved several backups of over the last few days, now when I try to open one of these .alb file as I normally do the file is just blank with no info at all. HELP all my work is gone.

This has happened before on other sites as well. I need to get the work back and stop it happening again !!

I am using 7.1.1 pro.

I have had that happen in the past. The best thing to do is to close out and not save anything when you do. Then reopen the document. If it keeps doing this, then there may be a problem with the way you are saving the file. Or at least that's what I can guess is happening.

I have some more info, it seems to be doing this after a PC reboot. I can save as archive no prblems, then close web easy and reopen the file again with no problems. If however I reboot my pc and then try and open the .alb file it is blank.

Please help, this is causong me huge problems !!

What I would do to help with this is to make sure that you are saving the file correctly. Are you saving it as document, template or what?

I would also suggest that once you save the alb file, that you upload it to your host in a special folder and if it happens again, all you have to do is download the file and it should open up the right way. I do this all the time, because I have had problems with this happening from tiem to time and it has saved my butt like you wouldn't believe.

I'm saving as a .alb backup every time, I've even saved it 3 times in separate directories, and each one I open is exactly the same.

The site I am building is cd based not live so I can't upload it to a host.

I can publish to a directory if that's any good?

Any suggestions?

You should be saving your work as a DOCUMENT, not backup.

That is exactly what I was trying to figure out how they were saving it.

Silly noobs..........saving as a .bak LOL J/K Always save your stuff as DOCUMENT or TEMPLATE.
