I will just number them for ease but please answer truthfully

1- do templates not load up on the web?
2- My website i made was 14 pages done on a template is that the reason it didnt load?

3- I am very mad at this program for not working- I sort of even feel ripped off after learning how to work the program, then making the first website and it publishing green and pink and orange- I completely remade the website and tried again-same thing happened. I uninstalled programed deleted everyfolder there was and cleaned up files. Reloaded website and made a completely new one took two days, and the dang thing would not load up. I bought this program so i could use the templates and get a site up faster. Whats the point if it doesnt work?

4-Since it looks like I might have to free base a page on a blank page- how much more difficult is it?

5- will filezilla or another ftp get my 14 page template site to load up and its hosted by yahoo?

6 www.conroerodeo.com is the site, also none of the popup boxes worked, but the links from logos worked on the first page. I called up advanquest yesterday to ask how to upload and the guy didnt even know the program and emailed me instructions on how to upload the site- i followed the instructions to the letter and that what you see is the results. any ideas?

I will keep at it because i know im just rushing thru the learning process, its not that difficult after you do it.

Thank you for any advice you can give me!

Answers:

1. Templates are set for a specific number of pages first off. If you are adding additional pages, you may have a problem. (I never use them)

2. Templates are not always the best to use because you are limited, and you have to keep it almost exactly as the template is to make it 'work' properly a lot of the times. (I never use them)

3. It's because you used a template. (I never use them)

4. It's really not difficult at all. I only build sites from a blank page. I have all control over it's design. After a couple times, you get the hang of it and it becomes second nature. Or at least with me it did. It all depends on the user of the program. The software is actually quite nice. It's kind of like Windows 98, 2000, XP, ME, Vista. Some swear by one and the rest suck, where another is just the opposite. It depends on the user.

5. I use FireFTP from Mozilla to upload all of my sites. And one of them is yahoo based hosting, so yes, it will work.

6. Unfortunately, WE was taken over by another company a year or so back. It's changed hands about three times as far as I know since it's original conception. So that would prove as to why the guy didn't know it. I looked at your page and need to ask how are you inserting your images on to the ALB file page? That has something to do with some weird stuff that goes on. Also, I hardly ever rely on the included features of WE to insert code and popup stuff. I like to have control over that myself. It might be wise to learn a little bit about that stuff and not rely on WE to do it for you.

Keep up the good fight. WE is a good solid program. You just need to take time to wander around it and see what works and doesn't. I just did a photographer's site and want to have two iframes linking images and WE couldn't do it. I had to manually insert code. At first it was frustrating, but WE saved a lot of time from having to code the pages manually for everything, and all it took was an additional 3 minutes to insert the coding manually. It was worth it.

Exactly. Without getting into details, I think all of this persons problems stem from simple inexperience with the program. Start slow, take small steps. Design SMALL test sites (not 14 pages) and get familiar with the program before writing it off as the root of all evil and blame it for things not working right.
