Hi, am new to Easy Pro. Have designed a basic page but would like to have the background in the centre of the page in IE. At the moment it tiles, which is not attractive. Should I leave the background plain and set the image I want as a background to a different layer? Have tried Custom CSS with no success.

Cheers.

You mean the page does not 'Center'? When you go to 'Build' your page, there is a box you check that says 'center in browser; ( something like that)

No, I mean 'centre' as that's how we spell it in England. OK Mr Pedantic?

He was not trying to correct your spelling or being smart, simply replying to your message, but when asking for help its never a good idea to reply with an attitude, or the help you seek might not come.

We are all simply "users" of this program, we don't have to help anyone, we choose to do so. (with the exception of the lurking tech support guy)

Am very aware that people don't have to help and I appreciate it when they do. I thought it was clear from my post what I meant.

Is your page currently online anywhere that we can see it so we have a better grasp of what you are talking about, because, no, its not 100% clear what you are talking about because some people confuse the background of the "page" with the background of the workspace.

In other words, in WE you set the page size to say 900x1100 for example (my favorite page size). Now you can have a background image on your page of 900x1100 but there can be another background outside that area the fills the screen. So its important to know which area you are referring to.

For example, on my page... http://www.djrwebdesign.com/
The background of my project is a blue gradient but that background of the entire PAGE is a textured tiled image... http://djrwebdesign.com/graphics/backgrounds/texture016.jpg

Now I know, what you mean. 'I' had the same problem (once). Do you have imaging software, i.e. Photo Shop Elements, or GIMP (free download). Anyways, what I did was open one of the WE Backgrounds in Photoshop Elements, and made my custom background the same size, and placed it in the same folder as the WE Backgrounds. It was a 'Trial and Error' sort of thing. Lastly, I had to look up that word your referred to me as, because I ain't that smart..because I'm a Monkey..an 'ape'...a 'primate' so to speak. But in spite of all that, I took your comments in stride by having a cup of tea, and maintaining a 'stiff upper lip'.

:D Definitely not English then - if you were you'd be getting hammered on Stella and looking to do me in :). Apologise from me anyway.

I've just set an image as the background, but I've since decided not to centre it anyway. Here is my site so far:

Am having big problems getting the e-commerce links to Paypal working at the moment
