anyone use Go Daddy as a web host? I am interested in setting up some Form Mail. I have tried Supa's Tutorial, it makes sense, and is a good thing, but I can't get it to work unless I am making a 'typo'. or some dumb mistake.
I remember someone here said that go daddy don't support other php form mail...
I guess you will have to use theirs...

My server's basic hosting doesn't support PHP, ASP, or pretty much anything like that. For a few bucks more it does though.
You can check out www.directnic.com. Their pricing is pretty reasonable. They start at $3.95 / month. http://www.directnic.com/features/paidhosting.php

I think I'm going to buy Coffee Cup Form software, it's $39,and works no matter what Host you're dealing with.

I love that CoffeeCup Form program! It is very easy to use and has a lot of great features. I use a few other CoffeeCup programs. It's probably some of the most user friendly software out there.
Oh, and I use the Directnic hosting myself. I wouldn't suggest it, unless I was using it. LOL

Why give it to coffee cup, give it to me...or charity...
;)
no, now seriously why would you spend money on something you have for free ?
so what it they don't approve php scripts, they MUST have their own script which they trust and allow using.
I saw many hosting companies like this.
what more do you need from the form feature in WE ?
the only thing you need, is to know where is the Go-daddy script location.
and let the form you make in WE know.
so simple.

I couldn't get it to work for my Host Hostmonster, maybe I made a typo error. There was just (1) Line of Code in the PHP File to change right? What do you suggest? My email address is Contact@CheapWebDesignInElgin.com, and my Web Host is www.hostmonster.com
Lastly, I can my Forms to work with Hostmonster, but would like to use your stuff?
Hostmonster gives me this: action="http://www.hostmonster.com/monstermail"
for my Form Mail

My Form Mail works, I took a stab at Supa's Code, I think it has merit, maybe I screwed up. I didn't do much followup because its not a pressing issue. I tried that Coffee Cup stuff, and its really simple. Form Mail can get real wacko for a million simple reasons. (I want to keep it simple)
lost you...
so it is working ?

My Form Mail works, I figured it out along time ago. I tried your Code, and it didnt work. I may have made and error, but I didn't persue it because my Forms were working. One day when I have some spare time I may look into why your code didn't work, maybe a simple error.

well.. if your mail is :
Contact@CheapWebDesignInElgin.com
and your web site is : http://www.cheapwebdesigninelgin.com/
then in the submit.php file it should be :
array('www.cheapwebdesigninelgin.com', 'cheapwebdesigninelgin.com')

I dunno, how much would you pay? :)
But seriously, with as many people that have problems with getting a simple contact form to work either cause they can't do the coding or their server doesn't support it, I may seriously consider doing this.
I figure I can create several different template forms to choose from then customize them with the customers email address and provide the appropriate code to be placed on their website and voila, I'm rollin in the dough :)

LOL - I just spent a couple hours writing code for my own contact form. I think it turned out pretty ok. Especially since I am a complete novice with coding. So maybe I can do some rollin in my own dough? hee hee hee
I have it set up to email without PHP or any of that, just simple email. I wouldn't mind if some could check it out and give me a few pointers or suggestions, if you all think I may need some.

Ok Johnny, let me explain why the php or cgi scripts are the way to go... your form does not work, at least not with all email clients. Email forms are unreliable, a php or cgi script is the way to go.
I just tried your form and it does that same thing that Patti's form did, and we had this same discussion. It does not transfer the users inputted information to the email. All it does is pop up a blank email message. My email client is MS Outlook Express. Plus it won't work for all the users (and there are many) that use web-based email accounts such as hotmail, gmail and all the others.
So do you really want all of those potential customers to not be able to get ahold of you??????
Use a php or cgi form mail script.

I guess it's back to the old drawing board. Thanks David. I'm glad to have people like you and a few others (Supa and WebMonkey08) who I have learned a great deal from just reading your posts or getting helpful replies from.
Thanks!!
