Hi everyone,
I've recenty found this forum and have learnt lots from it. I have been using WebEasy (WebAwkward) for 4 years from version 5 through to version 7 and have learnt to live with or get round its various 'quirks'.
But one thing that's really bugging me is that when I use Rich Text on a page, to eg. embed a link within some text, I find that often WE will freeze when it tries to create the page in HTML. This happens both in Preview and Create modes. Occaisionaly I'll get a box telling me about Triedit.dll which needs to be loaded. The only way out is Alt Control Delete.
I've downloaded Triedit from the MS site but am not sure how I'm supposed to activate it and would welcome advice from you knowledgable folks.
For info I'm running WE7 on Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Thanks in advance,

Dave Brown

Based on this article

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246490

If you read down to the resolution, it will give you the exact folder location on the triedit.dll file. If you downloaded a zipped file with triedit.dll, then you need to extract the file to that folder location where it should overwrite it.

Here's a link that claims a free scan to check the triedit.dll file first

Also, I would try the resolution in the microsoft article first and be sure to set a restore point in system restore. Hope this helps

The file most likely needs to be copied to the directory within windows where all the other dll files are.

I also remember someone here had a trouble because of Microsoft office..
If you still have problems, maybe this is where you should look next..

Brilliant. The trick was to unregister then reregister Triedit - as per the Microsoft article. Rich Text works fine now.
Thanks for your help.
