WE has a slideshow routine. The "how to" is in the help files so I will skip that part. What is not in the help files is what to do with it after that. As it stands it creates a slideshow web site and that’s all it does. Kind of leaves you hanging going “now what do I do with it?”
I needed to find a way to get it embedded in a current site page. I asked about it in another thread and got a start in the right direction. I was also encouraged to try several different show programs but I was on a quest to make this work. I will try the aforementioned programs later. Along the way I learned what an I frame is.
Slideshow site stuff:
I had several pictures that were close together in size ranging from 250x250 to 250x230.
I made the page 300 x 300 and colored it black to cover any shine through spots.
I put in the pictures and added a black frame to each.
I checked the size on the pics with frames and they came in at 310 so I adjusted the page size a little.
I then used the fit command to make them fit the page exactly.
I chose the page transition I wanted, built the file in dynamic html and uploaded it.
The receiver page.
I made a nonfilled square box 300x 300. This is a placeholder that will become the I Frame.
I selected the box, chose the script assistant and plugged in the following code.
(ok, I can't get it to post. What's the trick?0
Now that the I frame script is in I now have an active I frame. An I frame is a place that I can put a website within a website or slideshow, pdf, etc.
I am not sure that I needed the frame border and margins in the code but it didn't hurt me. I will experiment with that later. You will need to change your address and the picture sizes to suit your own needs.
Here is the result.

Edit: 09/10/8 the above has changed to a commercial slideshow. Wait until the end of the pictures to see the source.
It is not the most elegant way to do a slide show I suppose but it is possible in WE and it does exactly what I needed it to do plus I didn't need to buy an outside program. I will experiment later with some of the script that does the thumbnail to larger picture routine.
I would like to thank the forum members who provided the scripts that I proceeded to cobble around and make work.
It looks ok to me in IE and firefox on 2 different monitors/computers but let me know it anything looks awry.
BUT
There is always a but. Because of the way it's made when the pictures change it is actually changing the page. Not a big deal in itself but it might annoy the viewer when they realize that clicking back on the browser requires clicking a long ways back. Maybe in the future we can get a built in slide show maker. It looks to me like the scene assistant could be expanded to make a decent slide show.
Anyone got a trick to improve this one?
Thanks
