davidrosso, how did you get your page to display a little down from the top of browser so that the dark texture on sides ( of djrwebdesign ) is also at the top ?? I learned from your other reply how to add a background behind the page which is sweet but I cannot get it on the top of page. Thanks

Ahh yes, little code trick, in the head element of the document, same place you add a background statement to get a texture background on the "actual" background, and not the page background, add the letters BR inside of <>, one set equals one "carriage return" or space, on my page, what you are seeing is the results of including BR in brackets twice. Give it a try.

That is just too cool ! Thanks David, that, of course, works perfectly. Hope I can help one day.
Umm, can you make the page cast a shadow on the actual background ?

I just tried it, it don't work. You can add a new shape/block to the page, make it the same size as the page and then you can shadow that.

Thanks David, good idea with block but the shadow is not worth adding another shape to load. Look at www.startlogic.com It looks like a slight grey shadow on either side of their page - that's what made me try and I like the
2color crosshatch background.

The background is nice, think I'll "borrow" it :)
What do you think of this.... http://www.fastlanecoatings.com/
I did that one. Its kinda unique, its has a textured background on the "page" and different one outside the page, and a shadowed white block. I quite like the way it turned out.

I like the checkered page under the white and you have a shadow all around.
The logo is sharp too
