I would like to transfer my WE7 Pro from my XP laptop to my Vista Workstation. In looking at the web site I see a page that said only WE6 works with Vista with no patches.
So here is my questions
Is WE7 compatible with Vista?
Do I need some patches? If so where do I get them.
How do I go about disabling the license on the laptop and transfer it to the workstation?
Quick and easy is what I am looking for..
Thanks

I have 7.0.0 on vista home with no problems to speak of. The license bug came and went for me. I don't know why. Maybe something else was irritating it.
2 things though.
Jam as much ram as you can into the Vista machine. It needs it and so will any intense program like WE.
Have all the updates from Microsoft installed.
I have seen that if I run WE hot and heavy for a few hours along with some other programs running it can tax the system/ram and WE gets a little odd at the same time.
I have 2 gig of ram (all I can get in that machine).
I do have other graphic programs that will do the same thing but I usually see it coming in the form of the desktop and task bar getting wonky. Save, reboot, have at it again. Actually, as always, save a lot.

WE7 is compatible with Windows Vista. It's the other way around...WE6 needs a patch, and WE7 should run just fine.
If you go to the Tech Support KB, and search for topic 3028, you'll find an explanation of this and a download link.

Just happened to think about this for the Vista installation.
During the install place it in the C drive, not the default program files folder.
Vista locks up the program files folder. You have to jump through some hoops to get access so avoid the aggravation.
