I am new in web easy.

I made some web pages and uploaded in the internet.

I changed one of those files, and saved it into a document (.bak), but I didn't like the result. Since I saved it I can't get the original file, except from the internet.

I used the ftp program and retrieved the html file to the html folder in my computer... but:

How can I edit that file if is in html???? I need it in a document form (bak) in order of edit it...

Thanks for your help.

What did you change? Shouldn't be that hard to re-do your work, it;s just 'cut and paste'..

I changed a photo that I erase and I don't have in (bak files) my computer... but I guess is in the html files.

I just want to edit those html files, back in to 'bak' files!

I hope this makes sense

Look in the Web Easy HTML folder on your computer, chances are, it's still on your PC.

Lesson learned. Anytime you begin changes to a project, start by opening the existing document and immediately saving it to a NEW document such as "mydocument-temp.alb", work with the temporary document until you get the result you want, export that to html, upload to your server, then and only then, delete your original file and rename your temporary document.

Something I do, once I export the files to html and have uploaded them, I copy my WE .alb file to the same temporary folder as the exported HTML files then make a ZIP backup of the entire folder (html files, javascript, css and .alb file) then name the zip file with the date of the revision. So I can revert to any of my old works at any time if need be.

Very good idea and advice, thanks davidrosso. I use online backup service. Mozy is free and works PERFECTLY. I backup documents overnight, everynight. This keeps backups off premises and off computer and they are easy to recover. If anyone wants to use Mozy, have someone using it email a link to you - if you sign up thru their link BOTH people will get extra free space - the extra free space adds up with several referrals

And now for my favorite carp...keep all your HTML backed up to an external source. Flash drive, CD, external drive, whatever. That way no matter what happens down on the lil' ol' hard drive, you have your stuff handily saved away. It takes effort, but I can practically guarantee you you'll thank yourself for it.

You might even keep a history of all versions of the site, or at least limited sections.
