I said "don't think so" because I've never seen it done anywhere else, where have you seen this done?

try www.bankofamerica.com - hover pointer over "personal" at top left of page under the logo - 2 lines of text.

Thats not a html TITLE, thats a "alternate text". There is the misunderstanding. I think you can add all the alternate text you want somewhere in the inspector.

David is correct that it's an alt tag displayed in explorer. Explorer does this which drives me nuts, because I have to think of alt tags or leave them blank. However, in firefox, alt tags usually won't display as they are not valid display markup.
You can make it display on most browsers in the file inspector. click on whatever it is you want to type to display when moused over, then in the inspector go to the "Html title" field and type it in.

I just don't see it in the inspector. On images there is a HTML Alt - I have words in there but they do not display when pointer hovers - onlt the HTML title. For text boxes, that option for HTML Alt is not even in the inspector ( alternate text ) Thanks for the replies

I got this part already - go to top of post and read original question. How do you get multiple lines of text to display ? I can only make one - there must be a command to enter line breaks

Well, the html code for a line break is the letters BR inside brackets < >
Try that.

Nope - just displays " First line<br>second line " all on one line when I enter it this way. It's no big deal - I'm just going to move on, it's not that important - there were just a few things that I would like to have several lines of info display when you hover on image or text. Thanks anyway

Hmm...to me, the B of A site looks like they overran the line length for the alt text, that's all. That length appears to be 60 characters; I reproduced it in Web Easy using the phrase "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party. Or will the party come to their aid instead?" Sure enough, it looked just like B of A's alt text.
And no, I can see no way to change the line length in the program.
