Hey guys,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. How can I build a "Non resizeable pop-up" page just like one from msnbc when you click on a video link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/
I'm using version 7
Thanks in advance

I have had issues with this also. I can't make it work like some of the others it the forum but I did get a pop up page to come up and it is any size I need it to be however I can not remove the scroll bars from the sides of the pop up.
I have tried all of the forum suggestions but none work on my WE 7.
With that said here is the way I did it / with scroll bars :
In my site pages I add a new page and make the background as small as I need.
Name my new page Ex. gumdrops.htm and Title Gumdrops .
Now I go to the page that will jump to ( call or link to ) the new page.
I make a text item and add a link to the text by right clicking and add link.
In the LINK box I pick the drop down menu and select " custom script ( javascript ) " and add this script :
See attachment for code.
Save and test.
Now that will pop up my new page but with scroll bars.
As I said others do it with a change to the script for the page you need to become a pop Ex. : "height : auto; " .
I cant make that work for me.
Good luck.

Putting 'Video' (forcing video) to your potential viewers is not a good idea unless you have some real slick ways of doing it. Roger, I gave you some advice, did it fall on deaf ears? 60 % of the ppl that surf the net 'do not' have Broadband, they will leave your page and never come back when they wait forever for your page to load.

I think you are talking about the other thread on the WE7 posting bug, correct.
You advice did not fall on deaf ears. First I will try what you have said but I have chosen to ( try ) and make my dedicated web server work before I go adding links to youtube. I do not force video on anyone, my video page is using the Embed Flash player as I said on the other thread, did you read it ?
The flash player works and I have five videos on the page. If a person would like to play ( stream it ) to the destination computer of the viewer all they do is click the video in the list and it will stream it at 45 kbps. It is good bandwidth even for a modem. The video plays find and I have tested it on many computers so I know that my setup on the web server ( I set it up myself ) works. What I do not like is the fact that the WE 7 is not managing the content correctly or maybe it's the embed flash player plugin but the fact remains that if I make one change to a page that the player is not on the player will vanish and I then FORCED to upload my hole web page set to make it work and even if the VIDEO's are already on my web site WE will force ALL of them to upload again and the names of the files have NOT changed nor the content on the video page has changed but the player is just plan old gone !
The software should not behave that way.
Yes I will try your very excellent suggestion and I have some other tricks up my sleeve like I am going to make a stand alone video page and upload it and link to it off of my main web site set. That way I can update the video page only and it will not be a part of my main set of pages. I did get that idea from some other posters in another thred.
Thanks for your help and time to post.

When are you going to put your stuff on the net for a peek-a-boo?

Really now, do you ask a lady her age, do you ask a gift horse where the gift came from, do you ask your Mom where baby's come from, do you ask why your government is giving you back some money ?
Ho, you do.....
Well please understand that I am a tech first and I may know servers and how to setup a web sight but this is the first time I have created web pages.
I am a very busy person and I bought WE to make my job EASY and fast not more difficult and have to troubleshoot why WE is not working for me.
Anyway, I am creating a web site for a small church in Louisville, Ky - pro - bono
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro_bono (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro_bono)
I am happy with it for the most part but I am working on the bugs before I am willing to share my work here yet. I will when the bugs are worked out.
I have only have the site up for three months and had to work out some DNS issues with the DNS provider. The site is fast in our area and I have had some people check the site in the Florida area and it works fine from all reports BUT the bugs with uploading and video players vanishing are driving me up a wall.
I will work it out soon and I may have to do it your way but because it is a " Christian " web site and seems to be under quite a bit of criticisms I am keeping links to other web sites to a bear minimum right now.
I hope you understand. Anyway thanks for your help.

I can code a simple popup using Frontpage just fine but can't really figure out how to make it work on WE. Attached is the script for a simple popup.
