I just installed Webeasy 7 and it appears to work properly.

Is there a way to maintain the original MS Frontpage 2000 web page using Easyweb without having to redo it completely?

I tried opening a couple of ways, but it didn't work.

My wife created a few websites in MS Frontpage 2000 for me. At present, she doesn't have the time to work on the web pages. I found Frontpage to be too complicated to learn.

I tried opening a couple of ways, but it didn't work.
Thanks, Joe

You can try using the "Import Website" feature on the FILE menu, but I'll tell you up front, it does not do a good job of converting it, if you want to use WE as your main tool you will have to end up manually converting and redoing all your old frontpage pages, I'm in the process of doing the same thing.

Hi Dave, Thanks, you're right importing did not work.
I'll give it a shot building a new web page and learning to use Web Easy 7.

It can be a bit frustarting at first but you'll get the hang of it, this forum really helps, I read through alot of these threads and get many ideas and tips. I've only been using the program since Christmas and I'm finally getting better at it and can crank out a site much faster now.

I have been trying to import an existing website into WE7, but when I click on "import website" in the file menu, I get the box telling me to Look in: Documents, with *.HTM,*.HTML as the file name, and Web Page (*.HTM,*.HTML) as the type of files. If I proceed as directed by the help file, I eventually get the same box. Where does it ever ask me for the web address, host, etc.? Maybe it won't work, and maybe I will have to rebuild the site, but I want to give it a shot. I have taken over from another webmaster who built the site with ftp and html coding.

you would need to download your website files onto your hard drive and then open the index.html. you could technically do it through windows ftp://yourwebsite.com but it might be easier for you to download.

As Patti mentioned, you have to have the source files saved to your pc before you can import them. Download/save the source files to a temporary directory (or anywhere you can find them later) and then select the "import website" and then direct WE to the location of the stored file. Don't expect great results though, the import feature does not work well and chances are you will end up having to completely redo the work anyway.
