View Full Version : Floating Script
I have an investment site which I have previously designed using MS Publisher. I have since updated to Vista with WebEasy 7 and am reconstructing my website.
Problem I am having with this one script which carries crude oil prices originating from oil-price.net. Regardless where I place my script in a placeholder the result is the same. When I test my page the resulting oil prices float into my upper left corner and part under my page heading and not where I have my boxed script. Is there any solutions to my problem?
I'd really appreciate some help.

You can try clicking on the placeholder to select it, and choose "bring to front" from the "arrange" menu at the top. This should work.
I've proceeded as you had suggest, Jeff. Problem still persists. Image with oil prices moves into upper left corner away from where I want the image to be on my page.
I have constructed a temporary alternate page with the same script and wind up with same results. I have checked, and double checked if that is the correct script and without errors. All appears correct.

Is there any positioning in the script like: "position:absolute;left:252;top:425;width:340;heigh t:164;"?
Sometimes if pull in html from another source such as your previous site, it has parameters set. You might have to go in and change it by hand.
can you post a bit of sample script from it?
Unfortunately there is is no positioning written into the script. Is there anyway of doing it without altering his original script? Script can be found on oil-price.net website. It's the one with a chart and current crude oil prices.
Thanks Jeff,

I found the script. It's a custom dashboard. It defaults to the upper left corner because it has no other info except script tags.
I used the custom script assistant and got it to work in several different locations on a test page. what type of placeholder are you using? I just used a box and pasted the script into the custom script assistant. I would skip the inspector if that's what you're using, and just use the custom script assistant under the "tools" menu.
It worked for me.
