Does anyone know how many pages you can have?

Thank-you

Theoretically, as many as you require, however there is (in my opinion) a problem with Web Easy Pro v7 in that the larger the web site gets the more images and to some extent text blocks that start to get misplaced by the software.

I (and others) have had web easy display a message that informs the user that the web site is getting larger. This occurred with me at about 20 pages. I ignored it and another half dozen or so pages later the software actually started to delete my images.

I followed Avanquests tech support (good technical support team) to the letter and it seemed to stop the problem. Unfortunately a week or so ago it started again. I am now tearing my hair out because almost every time I attempt to publish my web site Web Easy has either deleted, lost or just can’t find some of my images. These are, incidentally, images that it found and published perfectly 20 minutes previously.

Hope this helps

Allan

PS
Strangely, not everyone has this problem but a quick search of this forum will turn up discussions of those who do.

I just bought this program and am rebuilding a HUGE website that I created in Frontpage. I'm up to page 21 (got that message about having too many pages) and have about 20 more pages to go. Then I will hold my breath and upload. Now you guys have me worried! I have over 200 images in this site! Am I wasting my time with this software? Is it going to give me a huge headach? Can you give me a step by step instructions how you diverted this issue of images disappearing?:confused:

I still don't know exactly why it does what it does but I was told by the tech guys not to keep any images in the folder that Web Easy build the web site in. Or any temp folders.

This seemed to work OK for a week or so but then it started to happen again. I don't know if I'm still doing something wrong or if the software is just a bit flakey.

What I do now is to "save" the web site in to a folder of my choice - usually the one that has the images folder in it. I then just allow Web easy to build the site to it's default folder and publish it from there. This seems to be much less problematic and I don't suffer from the problem half as much. However the problem still occasionally kicks off again.

Cheers

I'm new to all of this, but like the rest of you just learning as I go.

It sounds like people are having trouble with large page numbers due to photo galleries, no?

I too wish to have plenty o pics to share, and would prefer to "build" it myself using the page styles I have created, but...If I have to give up the look/feel for consistent function,... then maybe snatching some code, or linking to a gallery service might be the way to go. I mean compared to the cost of some other "builder" software (frontpage, dreamweaver, etc.) what can we really expect. There's bound to be some quirks and limitations to "easy DIY" software. They probably didn't expect us "newbies" to building 20+ page sites, with lots of photos. Hmmm,....maybe that's why they don't have a gallery option built in?

Just my 2 cents. Thanks.

Why won't you guys just split the documents ?

have a 10 page document put it a side..
open another 10 page document... and so on..
just link between them.

Yea, I read somewhere that's it not recommended for more than 10, than do what Supa said.

I'm going to have to do this at some point, are there any tricks or troubles when saving the new document, I've been running of my backup file because I've lost data when saving saving under a new name . Anything like that happen with a new doc. Or any other issues. Don't wanna lose what I've got.

Been through this.
Open a new blank document.
From your old multipage document, Pick a page, any page.
Copy everything from that page and paste it to the new blank document.
A WE background won't copy over and neither will e commerce button scripts.
Save as" the new document.
Don't forget to make to make any changes in the inspector.
Keep your old page for reference until you are sure you have the new single page like you want it. Then you can either delete the old page from the old document or just leave it there until you are comfortable with all the new pages.

Oh yeah, your page links will be different because you will now be linking from one web page to another and not the old page 1, page 2 deal.
