Once you're previewing your site live, go to "page source", usually under a view, or page menu, then click on "source". You'll see your page in html. In the head, it'll say something like: "generated by V-Com". It might even say "web easy", I can't remember.

Hey I made site already and someone was able to tell that I made it from webeasy...how is that possible.....

VCOM gives themselves a little plug by burying in the HTML code the name of the software used (WebEasy) to build the site.

If you are using MSIE, right click then scroll down to "view source" and then click on that. You will see the HTML code. Right near the top is the VCOM WebEasy text ad. I am not sure how you could remove that. But I use my webhost's cpanel and edit the HTML and I can get rid of it that way. I can also add stuff that way.

Windows FrontPage used to do the same thing and bury a plug in the HTML. So did Trelix and some other editors. It's not a big deal. Just says you didn't create the site from scratch. Not many people do these days. Templates are pretty big these days. So are website creators like DreamWeaver. It's a hell of a lot of effort to learn HTML coding and then apply what you learned to make a decent looking site. I can a write a very basic website from scratch. And that's about it! Other than that, I am screwed. That is why I am using Webeasy. It's kinda like the poorman's "DreamWeaver". And it works well for 1/10 of the cost!

Also, just for fun, if anyone wants to mess around with a pretty good and free WYSIWYG editor (similar to WebEasy) with a built in FTP program, then mess around with this:

http://www.nvu.com/

I had fun with it. And it makes a pretty good website for free :)

just edit your html page with any word editor as notepad or wordpad
and delete the info you dont want.
be sure to backup before you touch the code just in case.

I have been contacted as well. I am wondering if it were the same person. Who contacted you? Was it a college professor?

The easiest way to get rid of it is in the build menu. Click on the advanced tab. In the 3rd field "author" field, you can just put your own name in.

You can also do it with the inspector under the "page settings".

That neat, Jeff. Thanks for letting us know.

So many things to learn in this webeasy program.

This is embedded automatically in your text code. This is even after the edited Author section like your talking about. So even if you change your Author Information it will still show it's own plug.

Now this is using WE6 only. I do not know about WE7 perhaps they let you have more control over that.

In WE7 as well you can see a

<!-- Generated by Avanquest Technology v:7.1. For information please visit: http://www.avanquestusa.com/ -->

If you want to remove it it is so easy .
depends on your way to publish your site.
if you first create an HTML site and then upload it to your host provider then just after you created your HTML site open your ***.html created with any word editor like notepad or wordpad etc' go to the line shown above in the code
start with <!-- and end with --> and delete it . thats it , won't have any impact on your site what so ever.

if you use web easy to upload your site then you will need to do it manually on the site provider Cpanel . you should have a Cpanel given by your provider to be able to change setting fo your site, in which you can enter and change html coding of a page.
just pay attention to only remove the line showed above.

for general knowledge... every HTML line start with a <!-- and end with --> means it is only a comment and isn't used in any way on your site design or functionality.

supa,

Speaking for myself. I really don't care it's up there. It isn't hurting my PageRanking one bit. I have one page that made it up to 5. That's pretty goog for a WYSIWYG program.

I think people want there Web Sites to be as professional as possible and there is nothing wrong with that. But I think sometimes we look at the wrong things. Just as myself I want to start playing with Flash programs.

Instead I started getting into AdS

I hope this helps everyone know that a ton of people are just Surfers and not Designers like all of you have decided to become.

Me Protective?

Not me!

I was just saying there are other corners of there website that would be more productive besides the promoto for WebEasy.. LOL.

Like your PR of 7.. See and if that little text was still in there do you think that would have mattered. No not really.

I think most everyone here is here to help each other and not looking to bicker......

atleast not me...

Definitely one should take care the other more important things..

I guess if someone is making these sites as a profession maybe would like
to remove it for business reasons...

any way..

Is it my site that you say PR 7 ?
I think you got it mistaken...

Supa,
I am still looking where someone said they were going to link to your site. I figured it was you second site and it did have a PR7. Your main one that you sign with is a PR3.
Then you signed and said it was your first one I thought the one your signing with was your second one.

Maybe you suggested a site and they thanked ya saying they were linking to it.

I'll keep looking..

Thanks Aaron, both you and Supa, after checking out his site have opened up a door to a whole other world. I'm just now trying to figure out how to get more traffic. I have been spending most of my time getting content, some users and such up so it doesn't look like a dead site.

Your advice and Supa's site have been very helpful. Thanks again

And Supa, if you don't mind, I'd like to post a link to your site at www.forums.digitalpoint.com it's a great read for newbies like me.

As I start working on this, I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions, so be prepared.

I guess he just saw some things that can be done with the program..
You think that he understand somehow that forums.digitalpoint is my site ?

:o

Anyway I only have 1 site and it is my first to make so far.
still not at PR7.. but it will ...
