I'm using WEP 7.0 on a Tablet PC running XP SP2. I've turned off the tabtip function. When WEP starts, everything looks fine until I try to open a project file. The file loads and then WEP immediately closes -- no error messages -- it just closes down. This just started happening today after having used the program with no glitches for three weeks. What's up with this?

I would try opening one of the demo files included with
WebEasy to compare. You can also try opening in safe mode to see if you are successful there. If it just started occurring it would seem like interference from a new application or corruption of an existing.

Am I the only one feel a little "twilight zone" in this thread...?

No, Supa, you're not the only one! But funnily enough I had the same trouble myself when trying to load the whole kit and kaboodle, which is why I've just left the one page up for the moment. In my case though I quickly realised that my pitiful RAM just wasn't up to the huge task. I'm reliably informed that at only 240 it was a struggle for it even to run XP, never mind WE at the same time! anyway I yesterday toddled down to my local pc shop and within 5 mins had them increase it to 1GB. We shall see if the problem of crashing rears its ugly head next time... at the moment the only annoying thing is an endlessly popping up 'windows installer' window which keeps telling me I have a file missing from 'Office'. What's that all about??? I just keep clicking on cancel until it goes away.

You did the right thing. You cannot have too much ram when graphics programs are running.

Blasted thing is STILL crashing everytime I try to adjust scripting or try to preview a page... It just freezes altogether and I'm now wondering if that annoying Windows Installer pop-up has something to do with it. I suspect it's looking for a particular font in 'Office 2002' which I don't have on this computer, but anyway have altered the fonts I am using in the website design.

My CPU still appears to be running at 100% when the crashes happen, despite my upgrade to 1.27Gb. I can't seem to publish/preview anything other than the first page either! This problem only occured after my laptop screen broke 10 days ago (a nightmare as it happens, but that's another story...) but I transferred all my original work intact off there from the hard disc (which is now my E drive on this PC) and reloaded Web Easy program. Getting desperate as I've GOT to get this finished by Tuesday! Any answers?

No it wasn't that... I fixed it and now working brilliantly! It was as I suspected all along, the Windows Installer thing which was trying to find an old bit of my Office Program from the laptop files and it just kept stopping the whole process in its tracks... I downloaded a nifty bit of 'Installer Cleanup' software from Microsoft and deleted it. Problem solved! fingers crossed nothing else arises, eh?
