background color outside of page boundaries

When I created my site in WebEasy Pro 7, I used the "water" design. The color outside of the page was grey. When I uploaded it, now the color online is white.

I want something differen't . . . like what you see in this forum--the blue going into the white on the outside border of the page . . . or even simply a different color than white or grey.

My question: How do we set what color/design we want to appear outside/behind the page design?

I tried going to edit/page/background, but anything I did there changed the color or pattern of the page itself.

Is there a way within the program to set this and/or is there a way to edit the design in an HTML editor? Any other way?

You need to set the background to a solid color initially. Save the site with a solid color and the background area around the site will take this color. then you can add a background image, etc, but the area around the site will retain the solid color you choose originally.
