Can't get rid of little squares

My whole website is dotted with little squares with hovering text which says "Note: no space for the text!".

I have no text in these areas that is missing and I have dragged the above text box down and to the right so there is plenty of space. I'm not sure what to do next. can anyone help?

Is it a grid of dots? have you enabled the design grid somehow,
look in tools / options - there are loads of settings here , see what is selected
