Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem. When I build my website, I set up the page size as 1024 x 768. I then put all of my stuff in (text, images, etc.) and I filled up those pages right to the edges. When I was done, I loaded up my web site with "centered" pages. When I viewed it with a screen size better than 1024 x 768 it looked great. When I viewed it at 1024 x 768, it had both horizontal and vertical scroll bars. I uploaded the pages with "standard" pages (not centered) and the horizontal scrolls went away but the verticals are still there. Can anyone explain to me why I have the scroll bars and if there is a setting to change it so that my entire page will be seen and not need a scroll bar. I am even wondering if I can put some html into the background so that the webpage is a percentage of the users screen size. Thanks in advance for any help.

Joe

Hi Joe,

You are working with a fixed size so it would work better if you adjust your pages to be a certain size that will look good on all size screens. i.e. - narrower (width) and longer (down). People are used to scrolling down a page on the internet but NOT scrolling for width. Especially when reading.

For text readability you need to keep text fixed at between 500 and 550 pixels. There should also be white space around any lengthy text, this is for readability also. People simply will not read the text if it is too wide, because it is much harder to "keep your place" from line to line.

There is a place to adjust scroll bars in the advanced setting, in the first screen when you begin to upload. Check that out and see what happens.

So is there no way to set up a flexible page size that will adjust to the persons screen?
