How can I make the pages grow in length according to the amount of items on the page? And also is there a way to make the background fixed so the text and images scroll but the background doesn't?

For the scrolling or fixed background, just go to the inspector window > document properties. From the page settings section you can select the background as fixed or scrolled. There are many other functions here you may want to review for future changes as well.
