About Building a WebSite From Scratch.

Hi, All

I am stuck at the beginning of building a blank website (typical:() as first of all I select Blank (to build a website from scratch), into the blanks category then there are a number of different document sizes (I keep on selecting the 1 page per typical document) then I add a straight forward background and Added two boarders on the two sides of the document by using Shapes and also added a background to them as well, when I come to preview the web page I am constructing on either Internet Explorer or Netscape I get one and 1/3 of a page so the right hand boarder is on the left edge of the 1/3 page but I just want one simple full page.

I have tried going into Page then Size, into the properties section then I selected: User Defined, Width: 950, Height: 768 then in the Existing dimensions section I again selected: User Defined, clicked on OK then once I adjusted the two boarder shapes (as they went smaller when resized page sometimes) the same happened when I previewed the Website again! what’s going on? am I doing something wrong?

Perhaps you should stick to one of the predefined page sizes i.e. 1024X768

In the build / website - select advanced & then see whats selected in 'website layout ' have you got merged with last page?
try selecting standard or page centred & preview the difference

I have tried selecting standard and I still get one and 1/3 of a page so the right hand boarder is on the left edge of the 1/3 page and I have tried selecting the page centered preview and that is fine apart from the fact the website is centered and I would like one full paged webpage.

I have tried your suggestion to select the predefined page sizes i.e. 1024X768and I still get the same as above.

The strange thing is the website page will let me move the shape border out of the page area does this mean I am only viewing part of the page if yes how do I view the whole website page?

Any more suggestions would be very appreciated anyone.

It sounds like what you are seeing is the background of your page tiled, so it is appearing again since the image you have for the background is not the same size of the page. Try going to edit > page > background and set this to a solid color. Then build the site again and see if at least this looks more 'normal'

Thank you very much for the info but I still get the same annoying problem, would I get the same problem if I bought the WebEasy7 Professional software (are there any real improvments)??

It would probably help to see your website. Do you have it posted currently? If you provide a URL maybe we could see what is occuring.
