Very Short Ringtones

When I use my music files to create a ringtone, I can only get about 5 seconds worth of music before it says the file is too large. Is there a way that I can make the file smaller so I can have a ringtone longer than 5 seconds?

The only way to make the file smaller is to shorten the length of the clip. You may be short on memory on your phone.
