Fax Tools not working

I am running Windows XP SP2, with a Conexant HSfiSmart Modem V92.
Fax Tools was working but stopped. Now I can hear the modem dialing, but the call is not completed. It says the number called is busy. I have tried a new modem but got the same error. I have reinstalled the modem, and Fax Tools. I got Fax Tools with a Lexmark printer.
What do I need to check? I have reinstalled the modem, and Fax Tools sees the correct modem in its configuration settings. What is going on?

Are you trying to send to a local or long distance number?

It does not matter local or long distance. Most are long distance.

We need a log of what is happening.

1. After reproducing the issue in your BVRP software application you will want to get the log.

2. From your BVRP software application, click Menus, then click Display/View, then click Modem Exchange. (Pressing the F12 key while in the program will also bring up the modem exchange)

3. Click on File, then click on Save Buffer As.

4. In the top Save In window - select either Desktop or My Documents (to make it easier to find it later)

5. In the Save As window - type in your last name and click on Save

6. Your Modem Log is now saved. Email the file to cmunoz@avanquest.com include a link to this forum.

- Set FaxTools to Exclusive Use by clicking configure, then General Configuration or General Setup, then click on the Communications tab, check 'Exclusive Use' and click OK.
