here is information on how to back up Old Faxes, phone book, and voice mails.
TO BACK UP FAXES:
1. Double-click My Computer, then C:, Program Files, Phonetools.
2. From this Phonetools folder, left-click the Document folder one time. Then press and hold the CTRL key and while holding that down, click on the Queue folder.
3. Both these folders should now be highlighted. Click Edit at the top, then Copy.
4. Go to the disk or folder you want to back up into and Paste these files into here.

<snipped>My suggestion is that Avanquest develops a backup and restore function built into the program to do this automatically - possibly with an archive function as well to prevent massive start times for when people have large quantities of faxes and voicemails. This is something which is standard in some other good consumer coms/telephony packages.

We have this feature in the new update software , when you try to uninstall the softwrae will ask you if you want to keep your data and it will be save and restored in the new installation.

It's in these cases that a distinct "backup and restore" wizard that automatically archives the messages, faxes and folder details into a single "portable" file or extracts them, is very useful.
