getting a no dial tone line down

I have a lexmark X1270 3 in 1 and it came with fax tools i have sbc dsl on my gateway computer. And my computer also has and internal modem a Smart link 56k Voice Modem what could be the problem.

The version of our software that you currently use does not support faxing directly with your DSL modem, however if you still have an analog modem installed in your PC, you should still be able to get it to work fine. Typically you will need to have a filter plugged into the analog modem and we do have a document on our website outlining how it needs to be hooked up so please take a look if you are running into any problems since getting DSL: www.bvrpusa.com/download/documentation/DSL_Setup.pdf
