I just started using PhoneTools Multimedia Software 2.19 which came with a new U.S. Robotics 56K Faxmodem (Model No. 5686). I am on Windows XP Pro with SP2.
I faxed some JPGs of line art to a client and there are lines of tiny dots running horizontally and at a 45 degree angle across the fax. These lines are NOT part of the original image and appear only after the page is attached to be faxed in PhoneTools. I can see them on the Preview and they appear on the paper if I print it out from PhoneTools. The pattern they make looks a little bit like a circuit board or the paths on a computer chip.
Any way to get rid of these?
