I'm on a Dell pc that came originaly with Phonetools 5.0
I have since upgraded to v6. I'm getting static on the outoing message, and poor sound quality. my modem is a conexant D850 56k V.9x DFVc., and I'm running XPSP2.
This is occuring both on messages that came with the program, and with onces we have recorded ourselves. When playing the custom messages sound quality over the computer speakers is fine.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I am haveing the same problem.
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2
Classic PhoneTools: 6.04
Modem: "Amigo AMI-CA58" that Win XP sees as "PCI SoftV92 Modem"
The pre-recorded greetings do not sound as good as listening to them on the computer and the custom greetings I create sounds really bad.
Beside this issue everything seems to be working great.

Hi Mike,
I just wanted to know if the following modem is the same as one of the U.S. Robotics modems on your compatibility list.
U.S. Robotics USR263091 56K PCI Voice Faxmodem
You have the following modem on the compatibility list:
U.S. robotics 56K Voice Faxmodem
Are these the same modems as far as Classic PhoneTools are concerned?

My sound is HORRIBLE - when you call in it you can barely understand.. and when I leave a message it is sooooo staticy I cannot barley hear what I said. Also - isnt' there suppose to be caller ID on this product?

To assist in answering your question in a timely manner, it is helpful to post the following information when you ask a question:
1. What version of our software are you using? This can typically be found by clicking Menu(s), Help, About <Product>.
2. What modem/phone are you using? What modem are you using?
- In Windows XP/2000: This can be found by clicking Start, Control Panel, Phone and Modem Options, Modems tab. Your modem name will be listed here.
- In Windows 98/Me: This can be found by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel, Modems. Your modem name will be listed here.
3. What operating system are you using? E.g., Windows XP SP1, Windows 98 SE. This can normally be found by right-clicking 'My Computer' and left-clicking properties and it will be listed under the System section on the General tab.
4. Details of the issue including any error messages, e.g, "When I try to install it keeps stating 'Please insert disk 1'."
5. Scenarios under which the issue occurs, e.g., "I can normally send faxes, but cannot to the 310 area code."
6. How did you receive the software? E.g., received with a Dell A920 printer, received with a Dell Dimension 8400, received with a US Robotics Fax Win INT modem, purchased at www.bvrpusa.com, purchased a box at Fry's, etc...
7. Your e-mail address is also helpful should we need to send you a file or download link.
We do not specifically support Caller ID with our software. If the modem reports it to us we will display it.

I found another product that works great out of the box with the origianal modem that was in the computer.
How do I get a refund of my Classic PhoneTool? BTW, you have the best user interface but it appears to be too pick with the modems.
Thanks
