OK, for us computer stupid people out here. I have been reading the questions posed here for a bluetooth transfer and the answers given out by tech support are less than stellar. In laymans terms, what the hell do you need and how do you go about hooking everything up to make the file transfers? I am on a windows XP HE Ver 2002 SP2, my bluetooth adaptor is a Trendnet class 2 USB 1.1. It operates in the 2.4-2.4835 GHz range. I am attempting to send files to a motorola V600 and V3. The bluetooth is enabled and the phone is paired with the computer and the RMS will still not detect the BT. WTFO? This is getting to be difficult as hall for somthing that was made to sound so simple on the box. If really is that difficult to make the transfers maybe it should tell you on the box that you need a very specific BT device to make the transfers or that you are going to have to pay extra for the cable and the software to do the same. I have a cable for my V3 and the PC will not recoginize it to make the file transfers. There needs to be a better way of doing this and dont tell me to use the SMS, that costs more money than I care to spend using cingular. How about some real help on this problem?

Do you have both phones paired at the same time? If so, unpair one and see if that works.
Does your Blue Tooth Dongle support OBEX transfer? Can you transfer files through the Bluetooth Software.

No I do not have both phones paired up at the same time. How do I find out if my BT will make the OBEX transfers and my BT software will not make the file transfers, it gives me an error message. Please give me a clue about finding this information or give me a make and model of a BT device to use and I can find out if it is feasable to just purchase that one instead.

I don't understand your response? Did you say you can not do the File transfer in your bluetooth software either? If so then that is the issue.

Motorola, Belkin, Kensington and just a few adapters that I can think of that work with our program.

You think?!? I am sorry but that is just not good enough! You as a support trch either know or you dont. Get me the names of the dongle's that support ther OBEX transfer or find someone who does know. This is damn ridiclous!! That information should have been included with the product. Not to mention that I gave you every little bit of info that would have been needed to tell me if the BT I have works or not. If you cant answer the questions that I am posing to you, perhaps you can pass them on to someone who can!

After what support just said. It would also mean that your bluetooth isnt responding properly by the manufacturer defaults. Because the software that came with it is not responding as well to file xfers. You should consult with the manufacture of your bluetooth device, make sure with them that it is working properly. Then test the file xfer with Ringtone Media Studio.
