Hello All,
I need some help. I have motorola SLVR L7. I turned Bluetooth on it and paired it with my PC running Windows XP SP2. The devices are connected. Now I fire up my Ringtone Media Studio and try to transfer an MP3 file to my phone and it says the device is not detected. I have had no luck in transferring the file. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I thought the process will be straightforward but it doesn't look like as simple as they advertise.

Thanks
Suresh

What brand of Bluetooth USB adapter are you using? Some adapters do not support the kind of file transfer that you are attempting with RMS.

Hello Sir/Madam,
I am not sure what make/model this is. I recently brought it on e-bay and it says it is compatible with all bluetooth enabled devices. Here is the description:
Brand New Bluetooth USB Dongle Adapter 100M !!
Here is the link for my e-bay purchase.

Going with what they stated there, the dongle does not support OBEX transfer, which is required from Ringtone to be able to transfer directly to your phone.

You might try the SMS delivery service at www.ringtonemediastudio.com.

Thanks for your reply. Is there a service charge for the SMS delivery. Do you know if companies charge for transfer of such media files. I appreciate your response. Also can you help me identify a bluetooth device that supports OBEX transfers. I think it would be better buying another dongle than pay these outrageous charges for data transfers.
Thanks
Suresh

SMS charges depend on your carrier and service plan. You would need to contact them for more information about that.

Motorola, Kingston, Belkin just to name a few are adapters that support OBEX transfer.
