how to receive a fax manually

Hi

PhoneTools 2000 v. 2.19
US Robotics external modem v. 5686
Windows 98 (still using my 1998 Dell)
I believe the software came with the modem but I'm not positive.

My questions:
1. How do I receive faxes manually? By that I mean, our phone rings, I pick up the handset and hear a fax beeping, I open PhoneTools - where is the "receive fax now" button??
2. Is there an update I should download?

The Phonetools has to pick up the call to be able to recieve, there is not a receive now button.

There are newer versions, but they may not function properly on Windows 98 with that modem.
