I bought Classic Phone Tools 6 retail online about 10 days ago. I had some trouble downloading it which I resolved myself. However, ever since installation the thing would switch to Fax mode soon as I try to make a call. Your tech support people tell me I need a voice modem. I replied stating I have a GTW V.92 Voice Modem and asked to recommend a replacement if the current modem will not suffice. I have yet to receive a reply and not happy with your tech support so far.

1. In Classic Phonetools Go to the General Setup (or push F6 on your keyboard)
2. Go to the Communication Tab
3. Click on Change Modem
4. Click Next
5. Make sure the GTW Modem is Highlighted and click next
6. Check the box for Do not Automatically detect and click next
7. On the left side choose Broadcom modems, and the right side choose the GTW V.92 Voice modem and click next
8. Click finish
9. Click OK out of the General Setup
Let me know if that helps.

Did steps 1 thru 9 and now the Phone module button does not appear on the main panel. The only buttons shown are Fax, Voice Mail and E-Mail. Restarting the program and Windows no help.

Again, ran through the second set of items 1 to 9 and I still can't get this thing to work. Maybe I should explain what my needs are and hope we can work towards that end. All I need is to be able to place and receive phone calls while I'm at my computer. I have no need for fax, voice mail, email or the answering machine feature. I already have enough equipment to do all that. If we can make the phone work and turn the other features off that would be super. I surely hope this helps.

Faxing is alwasy going to be a part of the program, thats its prime function.
Do you have the GTW V.92 Voice modem under Gateway modems?
Yes, GTW V.92 Voice Modem IS under Gateway modems. Another question I have is why isn't the phone handset in view on the main panel. The Phone button did reappear.
Now when I attempt to place a call it tells me to pick up the handset and click ok but theres no handset to pickup and no "OK" button. By the way, I am trying to use a headset for hands-free operation.
Maybe I need a simpler version of Phone Tools and does BVRP have one?

You lost me with the last part. You do or do not have a Speakerphone option?
What kind of Head set are you trying to use?

Yes, there is a Speaker Phone button on the main panel.
The headset I use is a simple, no frills net2phone brand headset w/boom mic plugged into the "Microphone" and "Headphone" jacks on the back panel of my tower. I've had it for about two years and it continues to served me well.

To dial in Speakerphone mode you have to click on the Speakerphone button. If you jsut click on the Handset it is dialing and then expecting you to pick up a hand set of a normal phone.
That headset should work then.

I already tried the speaker phone button without any improvement. Could I start all over, uninstall, download anew and reinstall? maybe that'll work.

Better yet, I'd like to get reimbursed the purchase price I paid for this software since I've already lost faith in the product. How do I go about it?
