Hi,
When I make a phone call using my headset I can hear the person on the other side but the other person doesn't hear me. I've check my microphone and the volume is maxed. Do you have any suggestions that I can try to solve my problem?

Classic Phone Tools Ver 5.01
Duxbury PCI V92 Modem
Windows XP SP2

A part of the issue is that the only way I can hear the other person through my speakers of my headset is if I switch off my microphone but even with the microphone switched on the other person still can't hear me. It's as if my speakers and microphone are sharing a device or something.

I got this software when i purchased the Duxbury 56kPCi Internal modem

My email Address: markpbez@telkomsa.net

Any help is appreciated! :D

Does your headset plug into the speaker and Microphone jacks of the Soundcard?

Yes, my headset plugs into the onboard sound via the standard connectors.
Audio Spec.
It's an AC97 link controller integrated in Intel ICH6 chipset.
6-channel audio codec Realtek ALC655 - AC97 v2.3 spec compliant.

I hope this helps.

What is the modem installed as in the control panel?

The head set should be fine if it is plugging into the soundcard. The ones that plug into the USB ports do not work with our programs.

Hi,
Yes everything you've said so far is true.
The modem attached is Duxbury PCI V92 Modem (this is the exact wording in the 'Phone and Modem Options - Modem Tab' in Control Panel).
Modem driver provider is CXT driver ver 7.33.0.51
Just to let you know that I used the drivers that came with the modem so it should be okay.

I've tried almost everything so far to get the person on the other end to hear me but I'm obviously missing something.
Is there a standard procedure that I can follow or a checklist that I can use to see if my modem and sound devices are compatible with the phone function of Phonetools?

Actually, we do not have any drivers for that modem. We should be able to get the fax functions working with it, but we probably will not be able to get the voice features to function properly.

Yes, I know you don't have drivers for it but isn't there another driver that could work because there's only five to choose from the list provided in PhoneTools. You must have more, right? :? Maybe a Duxbury support version (not particular to the model I have).
I seriously would like this voice function to work. So if you can pull the rabbit out of the hat I would be grateful.:)

I was thinking and this might not be your problem but why give software tools with unsupported hardware it doesn't make sense. :?:

We don't have anything that will make the voice features function correctly with that modem.
