Need XP update

I have Phone Tools version 2.19 that shipped with a US Robotics 56K Voice/Data ext modem, Model# USR5686D. My OS is XP SP2 which was updated from Win98SE which everything worked fine in. Now it doesn't... :( I had trouble getting Phone Tools to recongnize the modem and now that I've got that fixed when I try sending a fax it hangs up as soon as the call is answered.
