I have a Pace 56 Solo modem that has only been used as an answering machine for some time as the pc did not have a spare serial port. A serial port, on the Xp SP2 pc, is now free so I wish to use the fax service of the modem and retain the answering service function
I use to have a set of 3 x 3 1/2 disks but can now only find Disk #3 "PhoneTools version 2.00 - English" I do remember I had some problems and added a file called DGUCONV.DLL to this disk.
Can you please tell me where I can obtain the suitable drivers for my Pace and what the name of the driver(s) are?
Also what version of PhoneTools should I be using and how do I obtain these?

I am not sure what you mean. How have you been using the answering machine function?
Actually this is immaterial as the Pace is not connected to a pc for this function; it has a built in stand alone answering machine.
I now want to use it as a fax machine so I can scan a document on my pc scanner then send the result to the PAce to dial out and send the fax.

They don't make them like the Pace Solo anymore and the oldies were the goodies.
I use to have a set of 3 x 3 1/2 disks but can now only find Disk #3 "PhoneTools version 2.00 - English" I do remember I had some problems and added a file called DGUCONV.DLL to this disk.I purchased the upgrade version of Classic PhoneTools 6 for about £15 back in 2004. Since then BVRP/Avanquest have made some efforts to fix functionality with the Pace Solo but there's quite a bit you need to do to get it working as it should.... even then there are still some bugs within CPT 6.04 such as the light not going green but instead staying orange. It also takes to long to register that its in speakerphone mode and even though I have advised BVRP of these problems many months ago, nothing has been done to resolve them.
Can you please tell me where I can obtain the suitable drivers for my Pace and what the name of the driver(s) are?I've developed a fully working Win XP compatible Pace Solo compatible inf and have posted it along with instructions at the relevant yahoo group here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/56solo/ - note that you'll need to join the group to access the file. Otherwise you can PM me and I can email you the file.
Also what version of PhoneTools should I be using and how do I obtain these?PhoneTools 2.0 isnt Win XP compatible (I've tried it with known lockups and closure problems) - I use the Classic PhoneTools 6 upgrade as mentioned above. If used with my inf you will even get working Caller ID in the software - note that Win XPs native (Digitally Signed) Pace Solo inf has broken Caller ID!
