I recently upgraded to the retail version of Classic phone tools6. I am using windows XP operating system. It will not install properly. It tells me the print driver cannot be found. It will not answer the phone and take or give messages. The bvrp printer is not installed. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Here is a link and instructions for downloading and installing Capturefax BVRP.

1. Go to www.bvrpusa.com/capturefax

2. Save the file to your desktop

3. After the file is downloaded, close all programs, and from your Windows Desktop, double-click on CaptureFAX.exe .

4.To verify the Capture Fax drivers installed, from Windows, click Start, Settings, Printers and it should show those drivers.

Thank you for your response,
I have tried this before without success but decided to try again and get the same error as I received when installing. The error is (Addprintdriver Specified module couldnot be found). The modem is working and I can dial out from it.

The Add Printer driver error is unrelated to the reception issue.

Do you have an HP or Cannon printer? If you do, you might try uninstalling that first, then running the capturefax installation. Once capturefax is installed you can reinstall the printer.

For the reception issue, which modem do you have in the computer?

Again I thank you for your response. I removed all printers from my system. Installed capture fax driver. And still received the same error. AddPrintDriver dialog box comes up with the same error. Specified module could not be found?

The modem is marked on the PCI card as an Aztech MP3900v-ub. When I try to get the driver for this modem it tells me no driver is available or needed for windows xp. When I go to dell sight it tells me the driver I should use is conexant HCF v90 56k RTAD speakerphone PCI modem. The origianl dell BVPP software uses AZTEC modem.

Any ideas where to get the correct Windows XP driver for this modem If the dell driver I am using is wrong. Aztech tells me it is no longer supported.

"Win XP 1) Windows XP already has an inbuilt driver (detected as "Dell Data Fax Modem"). Plug in the PCI modem, and the system will detect and install the hardware driver automatically without user intervention
2) For users who upgraded from previous OS, then you must first remove the old modem driver before upgrading to WinXP. "

I do not know where to get the correct driver. If Dell says to use the Conexant one, you might try that one.

Other than closing all Processes running in Task manager, I do not have any other suggestions for the add printer issue.

This is the one i have been using and it works but will not answer the phone. I Can dial out from the key pad and all the diagnostics tell me it is working. It simply will not answer the phone. This has not been a good experience. I can't even get my old inadequate software to work again. It is like some of the xpdrivers are not compatible with the BVRP software.

The generic Modem driver is not compatible with our program.

Were you able to shut down the processes in the task manager?

All processes can be shut down from the task manager. Fax Capture will not install. Modem driver works and diagnostics check ok still will not answer phone.

The generic Modem driver is not compatible with our programs. We will not be able to receive with it.

What exactly is the whole error you are getting?

Exactly as the guest stated the response to all the postings has been on no help at all. The modem has no problem the software simply does not work. I upgraded for no good reason. Why don't the comopany just say it will not work with xpwindows instead of taking our money to upgrade and then it will not work?

It does work with Windows XP, its the Generic driver that got installed that is causing the issue receiving. You might try the XP fax Console to see if that functions differently, but our program will not receive with that driver.

I guess the question still remains how do I get the proper driver installed?

Normally it would have to be either from Dell or Aztech.

I am using the Dell driver and you have said it will not work and as far as aztech driver I pointed out in earlier post they tell me to use the xpwindows driver. And you point out that driver will not work with your software. Fact still remains the software does not work on my computer.

I must not be the only one having problems since I note there are nearly 600 people checking out our post.

Again, the Dell Data/Fax driver is a generic driver and our program will not work with it. In order to get our program to function you will need to update the driver to the XP driver SPECIFIC to the modem. You would have to do that through Either Dell or Aztech.

I have finally gotten this program to work. My solution was to remove all previously installed modem software. Remove from my system BVRP software. Then start with installing my original OEM modem with my software disk from my original configuration disk. I was able to get the driver for the modem upgraded (from driver.com before reinstalling BVRP Classic Phone 6. I have finally succeeded in getting the answer service to answer my phone. I have not had anyone call and leave a message so don't know what the audio quality of the callers message will be. My recorded message plays fast and has audio distortion.

So it is working but quality of the message is poor. Maybe there will be a better setting I will discover for recording the messages that will give me better quality.

What is the modem installed as now then?

ckrem
05-09-2006, 01:15 PM
The modem is now installed as MDP 3900V-U Aztech with an unsigned windows driver.

A customer left a message on the answering machine and it was ok just slightly distorted.
