Hi, I have just bought a Dell computer with a Conexant modem that supports v.92 Standard and I have call waiting service. However NONE of the ISPs in New Zealand supports v.92 (This is so sad), and I could not get boardband in my area.

The Netwaiting software, like everyone else having similar problems display me with this message of "Not connected to v.92 server" and cannot even be able to automaticly disconnected upon incoming call.

Where on my Labtop that I used to use on the same line, I also had a modem that supports v.92 standard. It uses a MOH applet "LtMoh v1.69" where when there is an incoming call, although I could not use the full features of V.92, the program would pop up and ask if I'd like to disconnect from the internet to take the call.

I was wondering by anyway I could be able to disconnect from the internet if there is an incoming call? Like a similar MOH software to the LtMoh one or if I can do that by changing some of the settings??

Please please if the BVRP people can solve this problem for all of us that suffers. Thank you very much!

Detail:

Call Waiting Enabled

No, there is not a setting to do that with the Modem on Hold program we developed. It is only for putting the internet on hold to take a call while you are on line, which of course requires the ISP also support that.

Is there by any chance BVRP will develope a update for the modem driver or a new version of NetWaiting? If so, can your team add the feature of detecting call waiting signals to the software? Please when you develope the softwares, be a bit more thoughtful for the END users who actually use the product. I understand nowadays more and more people are using Boardband internet such as Cable or DSL etc. but there are STILL a large number of people who are not able to get it!

This really causes major inconvience to us dail-up users like me. I would have joined a ISP who supports v.92 if there is any availiable, this is NOT my fault, why should I bear it? Especically when where there are a number of MOH software provided by other modem manufactures which are able to function (partly) on a V.90 server.

Please kindly let me know the answer to the above. Thank you.

BVRP does not develop the Modem drivers, the manufacturer of the modems do. We do not actually make the Netwaiting program any more, we sold it to the modem manufacturer. You would want to contact them for any Feature suggestions.

After reading the response from BVRP and doing my own research, I found the solution:

1. Uninstall the netwaiting software, as is only for V92 connections. With V90 only, there's no MoH functionality

2. Go to the Control Panel | phone & modem | Modem tab, select your modem an click the properties button

3. In the Advanced tab, write the following in the Extra Settings :

+pcw=1

Acording to the AT commands Manual, this is for Automatic disconnect when a call waiting tone is detected. No need for netwaiting and no need for a V92 MoH negociation.

I'm using drivers version 7.16.0.51 from www.cnetusa.com, but I think any generic drivers will do the job.

I'm writing this while using a Conexant modem and surfing the net without worry about missing calls (Hope nobody calls while I'm finish this lines! :D )

Here in Mexico there's no V92 ISP either, so, automatic disconnect is a must have.
