Codec not supported V3

Hi i have just bought a new Motorola V3, and it has the latest software.
when i try to use a MP3 for a ring tone, using Melody Maker, a pop up tells me no MP3 codcec
detected! but i am using the latest codec for Windows Media player 10.

Hi i am using 4.3 Melody maker.
is that the same thing?
