I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems faxing graphical images. If I send a file from word that has been type it looks great but graphical images are very pixelated. Is this just how faxes are or is something wrong?

To assist in answering your question in a timely manner, it is helpful to post the following information when you ask a question:

1. What version of our software are you using? This can typically be found by clicking Menu(s), Help, About <Product Name>.

2. What modem/phone are you using? What modem are you using?
- In Windows XP/2000: This can be found by clicking Start, Control Panel, Phone and Modem Options, Modems tab. Your modem name will be listed here.
- In Windows 98/Me: This can be found by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel, Modems. Your modem name will be listed here.

3. What operating system are you using? E.g., Windows XP SP1, Windows 98 SE. This can normally be found by right-clicking 'My Computer' and left-clicking properties and it will be listed under the System section on the General tab.

4. Details of the issue including any error messages, e.g, "When I try to install it keeps stating 'Please insert disk 1'."

5. Scenarios under which the issue occurs, e.g., "I can normally send faxes, but cannot to the 310 area code."

6. How did you receive the software? E.g., received with a Dell A920 printer, received with a Dell Dimension 8400, received with a US Robotics Fax Win INT modem, purchased at www.bvrpusa.com, purchased a box at Fry's, etc...

7. Your e-mail address is also helpful should we need to send you a file or download link.

I didn't think it was necessary to give that information because it was a general question. I am having no errors and can send faxes just fine. I just think the graphic image conversion could be a lot better. Typed documents look fine images are grainy or pixelated.

I downloaded the updates listed under classic phone tools and conversion seased to work. I reinstalled the 4.01 version on disk and everything works once again just bad graphic conversion on images.

My question once again is; Are graphic conversion for graphics just bad or is the software not working.

I have a:

Version 4.01 Classic Phone Tools
Windows XP Professional SP2
Intel 536EP V.92 Modem
Intel 915D Gav Board
1 Gig Dual Channel Memory
775 Intel 2.66 Ghz Processor
200 Gig Drive
NVidia 6600 Geforce Card 256Mb Memory
One Touch 5800 USB Scanner

Is it possible to post images here I have an example.[/img]

Are these images that are already saved on the computer or ones that you have scanned? How are you attaching them in Classic Phonetools? Is the preview bad in program as well or just after they are faxed does it look bad?

I have tried scanning and converting high and low resolution scans and they come out the same. I am in the business of printing photos, maybe I am just use to better resolutions. In the graphical faxes that I am sending it looks like some kind of dithering for graphical compression.

Were you having the same issue in the 4.01, or just in the 4.24?

Honestly faxing is not going to be as clear as a printed photo, its just not capable of that quality.
