Classic Phonetools Takes Up to 10 Minutes to Load

My Phonetools 4.18, Conexant SmartHSFiV92 56k Speakerphone PCL, Microsoft XP Home Edition version 2002 SP2, takes up to 10 minutes to load, either when starting the computer or running it from the program group. During this time, the Task Manager says phontool.exe takes up 97-98% of the processor. It did not always do this. I got it with a Dell Dimension 4600.

Me too. Dell Dimension 4600, CPT 4.18, Conexant SmartHSFiV92 56k Speakerphone PCL, Win XP Pro SP2, and again ties up 99% of CPU. Used to be fine, but has changed. Can't recall if installed any other software at time of change. Any ideas? I'm in Australia so can't call your phone help.
