Mute Ringer

I am using Classic Phone Tool version 4.24 with modem Intel 537EP V9xDFV that came pre-installed on my DELL XPS 400 with WIN XP sp2

I am currently using the device mostly to receive faxes and would like to disable the ringing sound when I receive a fax.

I have tried everything to no avail. Can you please let me know what needs to be done?

1. Go to Start and then Control Panel
2. open Sounds and Audio devices
3. Go to the sounds tab
4. Scroll down to Classic Phonetools
5. Set the ring sound to none and click OK

I want to turn the sound back on. Somewhere, I disabled it, but step 4 (Classic Phonetools) cannot be found here.

any suggestions please?

It might be listed just under phonetools I would check for that.
