Classic Phone Tools software came with my voice/data/fax modem MT56342PX-PCI and is now installed on my new Dell XPS 400 using Microsoft XP operating system.
1) how do i get incoming messages saved in specific mailboxes by the caller. is the caller able to send a message to an assigned mailbox for example #2,3, or 4 using their touch tone key??
2) how do i get the incoming message to play out loud through the sound card while it is being recording for call screening?? and then i can answer if i wish to do so.
thanx,

1. What version of Classic Phonetools do you have? Depending on the version you may not have the option for multiple mail boxes.
2. Call screening is dependant on the modem, there is not a setting in Classic Phonetools we can change that will affect that.

the version is ---> 4.01
in the advanced setup there is the ability to setup up to 7 individual mailboxes. refer to question #1 above.

Yes, when you set up the advanced answering machine when someone calling in keys in the number for a specific mail box then the message should be left in that mail box. You will have to have the mailboxes set up in the Inbox to be able to choose them.

I have set up one mailbox but when I call in and enter 5 on my touchpad, it just keeps repeating the general mailbox (parent) greeting over and over each time I enter 5.

Which mail box do you have set up? Is there anything set up for boxes 1-4?

I had setup only #5. It didn't work. Then I setup only #1 and it still didn't work. It still keeps repeating the general mailbox announcement over and over.
TIA.
